libraries should get llm enterprise accounts
just a thought i was riffing on this morning as i was checking out the usual places for information, definately going to get into clawdbot (now molt.bot btw) at some point today but as i was doing the usual ai things i got to thinking about centralized places again and how they could get more people through the door.
max/enterprise accounts — i’m not sure how you set this up, maybe they give the libraries a discounted monthly rate on an enterprise plan and then through your library membership you get access to the enterprise plan that you have to go and use at their location or something, you could certainly create a buzz around that, maybe even a maker space?
i think there is a lot of value from progressing this idea and maybe speaking to some of these respective companies about a possible worldwide plan for libraries to have access to enterprise and then help the local libraries understand what they are offering and how it could be of value for them.
from a community perspective i think it’s massive, we tend to be these at homebodies, working remotely, relying on the fibre/connectivity and isolating ourselves away from the world and as we know, as you see on the news, that’s a bad thing! we gotta get more hyperlocal and connected to each other again.
i think especially for small towns, the impact could be massive, taking pain points from people about technology and building systems around their needs and educating them to how big this stuff is. not everyone can afford that additional $20 a month for an llm subscription (often times you need multiple) but i think a local library could find a way to make it work.
just think of the upsell value of having groups of people in the library, i’m certain you could even have a hack day weekend of building things specific to the way the library works, how it promotes itself, how it unlocks grants and such like.
anyway, freebie, make it happen!
cheers, humble XXX
