had some cracking ramen the other night, it’s been a while but it certainly helps to be closer to things, still quite far away but I could certainly see us go back to this place in the future. I love the efficient japan/korean mindset — systems, speed and brand image all mixed together!

the new bed is giving me life! I got nearly nine hours of sleep last night, I think it might have been due to pizza and being extra tired as well, starting to equalize out thou — transition to winter weather and dark nights training! gonna be a fun weekend and lock in week ahead!

you absolutely know I went for the extra meatball setup, going around an ikea on a friday lunch here is a hack, everyone is hustling out there and it’s quiet so you can grab stuff in peace, the $1.50 drink hookup perfect for coworking with your laptop, 30/30mb up and down WiFi! perfect!

so happy I setup the cloudflare always online for the blog! helps in situations like this. the timing of the downtime seems interesting and targetted maybe, guess we need more EU helping hands to watch out for the little gremlins ;)

I need to work out how to build a video page and see how videos are handled, so I have to be on studio to get the video tag to work? Or should this just work!

not locked in at all at the moment which is frustrating, trying to sit with it on the daily so that i don’t do the usual of jumping back in expecting everything to work, a new environment, new hardware, restrictions effect flow, just needs the flow to be reconfigured. so that’s where i’m at atm.

also the Aqara 4MP Camera Hub G5 Pro WiFi is very interesting to me, it’s not just a night vision capable camera but it’s got homekit secure video and will function as a thread border router, local detection and thread/zigbee – is it a device trying to do too much, better to have a standalone hub?

do people really dislike/lack of trust google when it comes to the “home” stuff? i’m looking at the google nest new doorbell (with ai) and google nest audio (3pack) for music in all rooms and the nest wifi pro for meshing the whole place, the router we have is great with 2.4, 5, 6 but yeah. dunno.

i’m going to be getting into zigbee and matter/thread and all things SMLIGHT SLZB-06MG24 over the coming months, i want MQTT to finally sink in and start getting good data/connected vibes around the house, with some decent backhaul this makes a lot possible, also a home service i can offer maybe?
