i wonder how much the crypto market is linked to ddos script kiddies going hard on bitcoin and getting destroyed. if they ain’t pumping bags they seem to be pumping udp packets in the hope of a turnaround. the digital weapons of distraction! on a good connectivity backhaul now away from east coast!

it’s that time of year where we get the lovely light shows for christmas time! got a few coming up and im told we have to go the rich suburbs to go and see what the rich people have going on. i mean, once you have the house and you are set you just dress it up in bling right? excited for 2026!

kinda crazy that replicate mention that they are joining cloudflare and then today cloudflare is down (they are never down as far as i know) weird how the web world works! i think this is maybe fallout still from the big 500,000 ip’s from yesterday. trail by fire for network mods atm, kinda OP.

i need to seriously beef up the homelab, also vlans, route10 gear, ethernet, iot network seperation. i think i’m going to head in the proxmox direction over time in 2026, just want to sort the local network out first and get the NAS online for local backups and we will be good to go. taco tuesday!

with the recent growing in size of ddos attacks, cloud is looking pretty flaky, i really do think local networks, mesh networks, local homelabs are going to blow up in the years to come just because people want backups. in america, especially where i am at the moment, time is most certainly money!

so i can optimize videos on the way up before with an app, but one thing i’m noticing about video uploads via the micro.blog ios app is the size of the “poster” images, they can be massive, 761kb jpg vs an 81kb webp i just replaced it with and updated the post. killing my pagespeed scores!

probably going to have to swap this out in a bit because of file size but I think that’s a bigger broader project about what’s uploaded and talking to the api to grab/compress and re-upload changing posts — not sure how to go about it yet, but I think it’s part web-app and recording tools to make!

anybody know if it’s possible to setup a page for video the same way that photos works, i can hack together the template to style the videos the way i want but i think without access to configs and the .toml i can’t actually change the front matter stuff on micro.blog right? any pointers?

new accountability actions unlocked, need for taco tuesday to be a regular thing and also setting up a structure to assist daughter monthly with things she needs to achieve her goals. now that we don’t have a local taco bell for our mid week treat we gotta start changing things up!
